Personal background
I'm a 16 year old from Scotland, (which is in the United Kingdom) :D

I'm still in a high school education, hopefully progressing onto University in the future.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) If intelligent life does exist out there, it will probably be like something we could never possibly imagine, due to the fact that life will probably have evolved in ways, which don’t require the essentials we need here on Earth. (Sunlight, Oxygen, etc.)

I think alien life will choose to make themselves known to us, rather than vice versa - and will no doubt be much more technologically advanced than us. As for the intentions of this alien form, I'm yet unsure.

2) We should possibly send out a beacon, to give the visitors a chance to understand us a bit better, as we'll be just as alien to them. Basic information such as our lifestyles, aims, goals etc should probably be sent.

3) I run SETI@home mainly to feel like I'm contributing to the vast amount of others who are doing the same thing, and this signal searching amongst universe background radio transmissions can only be productive :)
