Personal background |
I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., in the late 1940s. My interests include collecting various things (they change with my mood and bank account), good music (classical & opera), ringing handbells, the Lions Club, computers, reading, and theatre -- not necessarily in that order.
My computer runs Windows XP with an AMD Athlon XP 1700 processor, 2 100 Gig hard drives, 2 Gigs of DDR RAM (usually running a 1.5 Gig RAM drive), and a reasonably normal assortment of other hardware. I have the memory because I like to work with large graphics files in Photoshop and record and work on sound files using Cool Edit.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I have always loved Star Trek. I want to think it portrays what might exist somewhere in our universe. I am sure there are other intelligent life forms out there. The question is whether we are advanced enough technologically, intellectually, emotionally, and morally to find it -- or for us to be allowed to find it.
When I discovered SETI@home, I knew right away I wanted to participate. If there is a chance to find other intelligent life forms in the universe, I'd like to think I did my part to help. This will be the closest I ever get to outer space.
