| I'm in my early 50's and have a great interest in the sciences. I've run SETI@HOME for over a few years now, and have found a strange amount of enjoyment just participating in this project. I'm currently crunching for Overclockers.com Oh, and I have too many hobbies. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| SETI@HOME gives me a way to participate in basic research without investing a whole lot of my personal time. The scientific value of this project will result not from identification of extraterrestrial intelligence (I don't think our instrumentation is sensitive enough yet), but in fine tuning distributed computing systems, and in other bits of information that can be derived from the raw data. In short, a historic project with as of yet unrealized rewards. |
