Personal background
Originally from Colorado I have become a Network Adminstrator while attending college at Regis University. I have several computers that are on all of the time and I thought that I could use the processor power of them while I was away at school or work. Since my web server is not heavily used I decided that I the best use for the idle processor time would be to use it to run the Seti client and use some of that processor that is just waisted most days.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. There is other life out there. I just don't know if we are meant to find it. If we do find a useful and economical method of space travel we may indeed find other life someday. Until that day arrives well there is no telling if we will ever find it.

2. Man if we do transmit a beacon out just don't make us sound LIKE THE BIGGEST REDNECKS OUT THERE! Make it sound like we are actually advancing as a civilization.

3. I mostly run the client on the my extra machines and I do it just to use the extra processor power that I have that doesn't get used while I am at work or school.
