Personal background |
I'm 53, ambidextrous (left for writing and eating, right for most everything else). I retired early and settled down late in life. Married (16 years), two kids (12F, 9M), a dog (black), a boat (sail), a motorcycle (BMW), a job (engineeer, which came late in life as well).
I grew up on the western tip of Lake Superior in North America which left me with a deep and lasting connection to large bodies of water. I now live on the northern outskirts of a large metropolitan area in the midwest USA near small bodies of water.
I love to ski, listen to, and play music, read science fiction, watch my children grow, scratch my dog's ears, and make love to my wife.
I am a lucky man. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Who knows? Not me. I would love to be part of the team that finds life elsewhere, but I am not expecting it.
The same factors that make me believe life is out there (the shear size and nearly infinite magnitude of the universe) works against us in our little search. Still, better this than soap operas, No?
Best of luck to us all, I say. |
