Personal background
I am an avid Science and Sci-Fi fan. Read every book Heinlein, Clarke and Bradbury before I my tenth birthday (1969). I also love to write short sci-fi/fantasy/horror stories.

I ride a Harley and love shooting for sport.

I make a living as a Software Engineer in the Windows, Linux and Unix environments.

I am still working on my degree and will probably continue with my education getting degrees in Physics and Astronomy. I would like to take a fellows in Astronomy after I retire.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have a universal believe and definitely subscribe to the fact that extraterrestrial life exists. Like God, I consider it a given. My only disappointment is in the knowing that I may never get to meet such indivuals as those I know exist, simply because I am aware of the limited capacity that our civilization has currently for intellectual snd spiritual endeavors and the fact that we are entirely to violent in our behaviors toward others that are different. We have some serious growing to do before the little guys (hehe) drop buy for tea and crackers.

I guess in a way this is the root of my dislike for most of society's current endeavors. So I stick to science and see if I can contribute to the enlightenment of the civilized world through my own efforts or educating my children in such matters. Mozart makes it easier.

I like that we have this opportunity to participate in a scientific study. It makes up for the fact that we have limited access to space do to restrictions placed upon us by the government and the military. Funny we pay for them, they tell us what we can do.

I look forward to the day when that all changes. Hopefully I will live long enough.

Should we transmit, sure, we have been doing it since Hitler sent out the first television pictures of the Olympics years ago. However I believe that simple radio frequencies are not enough. We should use a newer technology that shows we have a greater scientific capacity. Maybe the more advanced races will pick it up and give us a hand in solving some of this planet's woes. Via email of course.
