Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?

Yes, I absolutely believe extraterrestrial life exists!!!!!

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?

At this point our world's history, I would imagine that we already have a suspiciously noisy planet. If we consider all the radar systems and satellite communications as well as any number of other noise generators we use daily on and around Earth it would be silly to think we can "hide". Because Earth's current noisy state, I do not think that it would hurt to send out one more signal.

3. Why do you run SETI@home?

During my life I have traveled a lot both in and out of the USA. From my personal experiences with the people I have met around the world I can honestly say that I believe that most people deep down want to be kind and friendly toward others. It is my hope and faith that this majority of goodwill toward others runs throughout all similar beings and that through some form of communication dis-similar being/entity types can bond and feel more similar at a core level and therefore bridge a gap to allow for a compassion and goodwill continuum. It is because I have faith in the general majority of good in the cosmos that I like to help in the search for others with SETI@home.
