Profile: The Seti Yeti

Personal background
Well, I've been contributing to the SETI@Home project for what seems like years now and guess what? No bleeps (or Boosters for that matter if you can remember him) Still, we shall never give up the search for hailiums'n'stuff!
I'm a database miner by trade and enjoy wading about in data and saying "tsk tsk; what a lot of errors". With two small children (they're easier to pack away when you've finished with them) and a wife to support I need to be carefull when I say tsk tsk and to whom, you understand...
My Management Team have a pet name for me I only recently heard about and the jury is still out on whether I approve or not.."Data" as in Star Trek 2G. hmmmm...

I live in the grim, dank and whippet infested NORTH of England and will not have a word said about this quaint corner of the British Isles - I like chip butties and curry. Oh and beer and Dandielion and Burdock. Did I mention beer?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I firmly believe we will discover evidence of ET. He/she/it will no doubt be devoid of personality and consist of a mass of writhing tenticles and feelers. Seriously though, I think we will find something interesting under the ice of Europa. The news will be met by the usual casual interest of the yawning masses for a few moments before something more exciting catches their collective eye...
