Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'd like to think there is extraterrestial life, because it makes no sense to me that we are alone in such a great amount of space...
Due to the greate distances, I think is pretty difficult that we could contact someone, I think that we or they would receive a signal of our/their existance.

If such a thing happens for us, it would be the greates breakthrough for the human kind. The implications would be huge! I think more of the religious ones.

I guess there could be benefits and dangers of course... the benefits that maybe we could leave this planet in order to stop destroying it, or maybe we could learn from someone else to really preserve it. The dangers? I hope there would be none of them, since any civilization that could contact another one, should know better and it would be an act of peace.
I think the dangers would be some diseases that does not exist in the Earth, so our specie could be in danger, so the other species.

I'm sure we (the human kind) should send a beacon in order to someone else could see us or maybe some action of ours. Remeber Star Trek, First Contact, like that. It would be great! The information we should send, I guess it must be something that would be recognized as an act of intelligence, maybe music, maybe equations, I don't know.

Why I run SETI@home? maybe all together could discover the aliens! As I said
it would be the greatest event in human kind!

, but I like to think there is, since it "would be a lot space wasted
