Profile: Dr. Xavien Kai Tremayne

Personal background
Well I'm a 35 yr old part-time scientist, part-time, I hear you say, well yes, due to the fact that being stuck in a foreign country, with little chance of learning of the language to a good enough level makes it close to impossible to find full-time research possibilities, doh. I was designed to be a geneticist but somebody brought out the eraser and rubbed out that title and replaced it with computer network manager (easy job as everything is written in English). I completed my B.Sc in Wales U.K. then my M.Sc, also in Wales and then went to Hong Kong to study for a PhD, then kept travelling. Four pairs of cheap shoes later I have found myself in Italy, and what a great place to find yourself. Uhm, I am stunningly attractive, if, of course you happen to be a female mosquito, as they all seem to be big fans of me wherever I go. I like shoes but loath slippers. I like going to the gym but only to the front door, inside is a different ball game.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Question 1:Does ET exist? Well we have all seen the great equation for this, and it has to be said that this does produce quite a large number (oh I like large numbers)but this number shoots off the scale when you start to think of a multi-universe scenario (which I think about alot), all connected together by a thin semi-permiable membrane (I equate this structure like skin and cells). Well now the number is huge, which means that I would be stupid not suggest other possibilities. When we will discover? When we understand what is faster than light (you know the stuff that we can't see)*wink* What could be the benefits? It would be a discovery that would unite the world as our boundaries would have grown by a few hundred light years.

Should we transmit and if so what should we transmit? We should always transmit. We should transmit pure, basic, understandable mathematics..enough said.

Last question.. Why do i run the seti program? 1. My hobby is astrophysics 2. I have a computer with a free connection 3. My CPU is always idle like me 4. The certificate of appreciation confuses my Italian friends.
