Personal background
I am a 35 year old male form Derby in England. I work for in the local media (but am not a journalist) and I also own my own video shop. This all keeps me very busy. I have been interested in the search for extra-terrestrial life since i was a child, staring dreamily up at the stars. It is difficult to comprehend the enormity of the universe without thinking that there must be other lifeforms out there. I am proud to be able to contribute to Seti in this way. Let's hope that one day Aliens invent radio signals!!!!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti at home because i believe the search should be a planet wide priority. Finding other lifeforms may help humans find out about their own origins and would have worldwide implications. We should be told if there is life out there. If it has already been discovered then governments are witholding this information because they believe the public would not be able to handle the truth. A major misunderstanding is that people want to know. We all want the same answers to the same questions:
Where do I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got?
Finding other lifeforms will mean that we are not alone and should go a long way to explaining our own origins. It is therefore important that Seti is supported in every way possible, however small.
