Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. yes, extraterrestial life exists.
Look at the sky, millions of stars and planets, and just one with life on it? i don't think so. The only problem is the enormous distance, that's why we newer were able to detect anything from other "living-planets".

2. Yes we should send a beacon.
It should send as much as we know about our location in space.
Information about our planet and us people.
And very important, we want peace NOT WAR.

3. Space is extremely big.
Just to scan a small area can take years for us.
A extra member of Seti@home will improve the speed a little.
It's not much, but better as nothing.
