Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always felt a connection with the stars. Even as a very small child, I knew there is more out there than just the carbon-based forms we call life. I run SETI on the extra computers I have around the house as well as my mainframe.

I feel it's important that we as humans demonstrate to any civilization that we are worthy of survival. After all, if we can go into the rainforests and other environments and indiscriminately eliminate species because we want the trees, land, water, etc., then we cannot be surprised when other life forms want to do the same to us.

Think about it. Watch what we are projecting on TV. Jerry Springer. Trading Spouses. The 6 O'clock News. Just how intelligent can we be perceived as being?
