Personal background |
I am Bill Croy and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I am 63 years old and have just retired from 31 years of working at the UTD Callier Center in Dallas, Texas. I have been a electronics technician and network specialist. I started electronics in high school and carried on with it through the Navy with radio and radar systems.
I use "Windows" fairly skillfully but I started my computer life with a "DEC" PDP-45 and PDP-73 systems, does this bring back memories for anyone? I watched the "PC's" from their conception. I am still just an old "DOS" cobbler. By the way Microsoft did not build DOS, they coopted it like a lot of other terms that already existed. Anyone remember "X-Windows"? |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I like the idea of everyone being able to contribute to such a grand project.
I just wish more universities would run seti on their student lab machines that set idle form long periods of time. |
