| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

as well as PEACE on earth, i would imagine a discovery of ET life would also have a significant effect on the individual human psyche - mind bending thoughts of the universe, self, god, time would suddenly have a frame of reference.
just as mushrooms might have made apes think, SETI might be the thing that releases humanity from its earthly psychological prison.
for many of us ET life is a certainty.
but if you're a middle aged mother of two in downtown sao paulo, the chances are you havent any real insights to the question 'what is beyond this reality?'.
i hope that when we find ET life, and we will, it raises the human consciousness to where we can ALL be happy with ourselves and each other.
in the meantime - lets send out a HUGE and loud message - what message? what about the encylopeodia britannica?
