Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life probably does exist and we'll probably discover signs of extraterrestrial life if we keep looking. Sure, it may take a few hundred years, but signs are sure to show up. To me, the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery are going to occur only in the minds of people who contemplate that knowledge. As far at transmitting beacons, sure, why not, it'd be fun. I run SETI at home to help out. I don't have much money to donate, so this is my extra little bit of help. I think SETI is the best thing since sliced bread, I could think of nothing to improve the way it works.
