Personal background
I was a radio morning show host for years and now moved over to sales in Direct Mail. Yeah, I'm the guy that saves you money with all those coupons for the $19.95 oil change, the gift certificates to the restaurants and the idea maker for a myriad of home improvement companies.

I'm also an officer at the Westport Astronomical Society, operating the Rolnick Observatory in Westport CT, USA. We are open to the public every single Wednesday night (weather permitting) using a 12.5-inch f/4.8 Newtonian telescope to show off the light polluted skies of Southern Connecticut... On moonless nights, we bring out the 25-inch Dobsonian.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In 1998 I had heard about SETI@home and knew there was going to be some kind of beta test to try out.

Always a true Space Cadet, I waited and waited, going to the S@H home page and nothing. While reading some online newsgroup back on May 3rd 1999, there it was... SETI@home beta was now online! WOO HOO! I'm gonna find me some Alien Dudes! And now since 2006, I'm BOINCing!!! Still, all these odd years later, no Aliens. Yet... I'm pretty sure that the guys working on my landscaping don't count.

I believe that anywhere you can find liquid water, you will find some kind of life. I don't think the amount of gravity matters, but if water moves in any way, life will find a foothold.
