Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Let see...do i think ETs exist...of course they do....the cosmos is far to vast for our existance to be a one of a kind fluke....are they more or less advanced than us...who knows....will we ever discover ET life....I think we'll discover evidence of life...may only be single celled life but it will happy....how or when....the when not sure...but i think we will the evidence of past life from possibly a meteor fragment....as far as an advanced society contacting us...come on...really think about it...why would an advanced race want to contact a planted where the dominate species is constantly on the brink of not only wiping itself out but the entire planet....who you really want to contact let alone bring home a create as volatile as that? Granted if we ever to make contact then maybe...just maybe people would realize that our petty differences don't really matter and we can truly come together as a human race. So sure...we should look...we should send a beacon....but i think we should just send something simple ...something so they know we're here...too much detail and they may form opinions whether right or wrong about us. ...I run SETI@home cause i want to do my part...even if we don't find life this program is vital for space exploration and if my computers idle time can help in some small way then so be it.
