Greetings and Salutations!
Welcome to our universe!
I am a singular entity born in New Orleans, Louisiana who was raised all over our little blue world in places like Gaeta, Italy; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Orlando, Florida;North Pole, Alaska; Washington D.C.; and assorted other places.
I am 32 years old and pursuing a film degree with 2 minors: English /Creative Writing and Asian Studies. I began my college career at the ripe old age of 28. I like to think deep philosophical thoughts. I read every type of book imaginable.I attend the University of New Orleans and enjoy a variety of hobbies in line with my studies.
Being a firm believer in it being "an awful waste of space" if we are the only ones out there, I knew I had to sign up for SETI@home as soon as I heard about it. To use a friend of mine's perspective, the statistical probablility of us being the only life is just ridiculously low. If the universe is infinite, then so are the possibilities of life.
I have, in fact, read Contact by Carl Sagan. However, I actually enjoyed the movie more. I felt the same way about Heinlein's Starship Troopers. The movie was better. Although their minds, Sagan's and Heinlein's, are phenomenal and fabulous!
I look forward to the day we find that voice in the dark that confirms that We are not alone

Support SETI!! When E.T. makes a ong distance call, he shouldn't get an answering machine....or worse..."If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again"...or even moreso worse (completely weird use of english but I'm a dork so who cares?) ..."We're sorry, but this number has been disconnected." Support SETI, goodness knows there has to be intelligent life somewhere, 'cause it sure ain't here.
I am a member of the University of New Orleans Group. When I graduate December 2004, I will join a new group. :) Til then Go UNO!! |
