Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I do believe that extraterrestial life exists. What I don't understand though is why the heck they only seem to "kidnap" some retarded hillbillies and redneck farmers in the US, and only to insert anal probes all the time. Makes me wonder about ET's cousins...

I don't believe though that any aliens capable of interstellar travel and whatever else we can't even imagine yet would have any interest in a puny polluted planet on a clear course of self-destruction, which is literally oppressed by egocentric and arrogant hypocrites, led by a megalomaniac and illiterate cowboy who can't even spell country names correctly without help.

2) Should we transmit a beacon? Yes, if the aliens help us to get rid of aforementioned hypocrites or at least shove their bloated egos back to reasonable proportions, then please do so.

3) I let it run because it's the perfect tool to use the available resources of my computer. Plus I have the hope that it'll help to achieve point #2 sooner rather than later.

PS: If you didn't like what you just read, sue me. =)
