Personal background
Hi there,

I am 15 years old and study at Wycliffe College Senior School. When I am not at school I am generally airgun shooting, browsing the internet, playing computer games or just messing about.
While I am on the PC I am usually to be found coding html, playing around with performance or messing around with compatibility on XP.
SETI@home is run on my two computers here at home, one is my laptop (AMD Athlon XP 1800 , 256mb ram (this processes data while I am using the computer, so it is slower)) and my desktop (Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 256mb ram.)
At school there is a large computer network, and I am probably going to try and get the technician to put SETI@home on at least some machines. All they seem to do is process word, emails and sit there wasting power.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am sure tht E.T life does exist. I believe that SETI or SETI@home will discover it first, purely because there is no other public program to find it. I believe that any E.T life will be friendly towards mankind.
Humans have already sent out one message for others. I think that there should be a program similar to SETI@home, where home users create a message using symbols, choose which area of sky to send it to, and upload it to a central server. The messages then get sent to an appropriate transmitter, and are sent.
I run SETI@home because if anyone discovers E.T intelligence, I would like it to be me!! Other reasons are that it is a good cause to donate my CPU time to. I am happy with the software the way it is!!
