Personal background
My name is Fred Reardon. I'm a project manager for the Military Space Directorate of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Sunnyvale, California. Space Systems Company is like a huge (albeit, sometimes dysfunctional) extended family. In my 20+ years at LM, I've met many brilliant and motivated people, and have made many lifelong friends (you know who you are).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
While in grad school, I did considerable study on grid computing. As one of the largest grid computing projects in the world, it made sense to me to get involved with SETI@home.

As far as believing in ET's, well for me the jury is out. Until one of those little green bastards gets face to face with me, I'm going to have a hard time buying it. Just because Clem in some trailer park in Oklahoma claims he was anally probed, doesn't necessitate MY buy in.

Though, given the vastness of the universe, and the nature of R.F. communications, it would stand to reason that an advanced being from another planet COULD communicate, even if it were not practical to travel many light years to share a "Bud Light" with us.

My kids want our computer to be "the one" that discovers life on another planet...they want to be famous. As for me...I'll take the Bud Light.
