Profile: Orange Lazarus

Personal background
Well, I'm a twenty-three-year-old aspiring actor living in New York City, Manhattan, to be precise. I actually like my apartment, although I have a few rupees to toss around, so that tends to help a bit with that. In my ample spare time I enjoy fencing, internet hijinx and the standard social fare.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
What with the theoretical size of the universe, there would have to be extraterrestrial life and, most likely, there is a smattering of sentience here and there. I couldn't begin, nor am I in a position, to hypothesize as to when or how humans would discover such a thing. Truth be told, I think that our discovery of intelligent extraterrestrial life or rather, their discover of us, would be just as likely to be dangerous as it would be beneficial; in that regard, there's always that "curiosity killed the cat" possibility hanging in the air. If we were to send a beacon, and I supposed I'd elect to do so, I think we should keep it light and focus on the trivialities of our society. I find this whole SETI@home thing quite fascinating and it warms my loins to know that my computer will be used productively in addition to my normal demands of it. Besides, a visual depiction of my computer doing a bit of number crunching makes for a lovely screensaver.
