Personal background
55 year old child, living in Prescott, Mi. Long interest in science, stars. Retired police officer of 25 years. Three children of my own, one adopted child. Matthew, the adopted child is a very active 8 year old. He and I compete for computer time. Married, beyond the 30 year mark.

Hobbies include but not limited to Ham Radio, Computers, Woodworking, Blacksmithing. Some gardening yard tending. I still work part time for the local Sheriff's Department maintaining our 911 system, department computer needs and janitor.

I host the local wireless internet system on my 90' Ham tower.
In my spare time I watch StarTrek TNG, DeepSpace9..........
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Simply, I think we would be pretty narrow minded to think we are the only creatures in the system. I feel this may be our glimmer of hope in seeing or hearing others.

SETI@home is a great project that allows everyone to be a part of. I think the only suggestion would be is to try and get more time on the air to give the public of how the system works. Project goals and bring it to the front of the news media.
