Profile: Neil Raj Singh

Personal background
Hello there i am Neil Singh from Fiji.
I am 28 years old and i work as a Physics Laboratory Technician in the Division of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, The University of the South Pacific.
I graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Science Degree, (Physics/Mathematics Majors).
My hobbies are Reading, Astronomy, Sports and Computers.
I am an Amateur Astronomer with a great interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics in both the Theoretical and practical aspects.
I am really fascinated about finding life on other worlds and am amazed at the number of Extra Solar planet discoveries in the past years.
I really find SETI very interesting and wish i could visit the SETI facilities in the near future.
To all the SETI team i would like to extend my appreciation for the tremendous work you all are doing, and would like to thank you all for this wonderful science!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think Extraterrestrial life exists elsewhere in the Universe since it would really be an awful waste of space if it didn't exist at all!
If Extraterrestrial life does exist then i think humans would discover it in the next 50 years or so, or even earlier since Science and Technology are evolving rapidly.
If we find friendly beings, then we may benefit from their level of Technology and Science which they would have brought along with them, (considering the fact that they are much more advanced than ourselves).
If we find hostile beings, then i am sorry to say that they will pose a great threat for us,(Destruction of the world and Replacement of our Human Civilization with theirs),possibly!!!
Humans should transmit a beacon for others to find, there is no harm in trying.
The information we send should be basic in nature, because if we send the type of information sent on space probes then it would be quite risky if hostile beings pick it up. We should transmit a short friendly message
and hopefully some friendly beings would pick it up. It is quite possible that these beings may have found us already, if they are much more advanced than us here on earth.
I run SETI@home because i love it, i love the science, very interesting screensaver, i am really amazed at it's design.
The SETI project is one of the most brilliant projects ever thought of by a human being/beings, it is science at it's best!
My suggestions would be to keep trying to look for that Signal from another world, statistically speaking i don't think that we are far off from finding it, considering the fact that there are as many stars in the universe as grains of sand on all of the planet earth's sea shores, even more.
