Profile: Archie Octospider

Personal background
I'm age 28, living in Worthing, West Sussex, UK.

I'm gutted because I have forgotten my password and had to set up a new account after almost 3 years. No, I couldn't have it emailed to me as my email address has changed, it was a .com I had bought but have not renewed it so am unable to access it!

Well, I like sci-fi films and series, and reading sci-fi. My favourite writer is Arthur C Clarke which is where I got my user name - Archie Octospider, from the Rama books.

Like music, speed/thrash metal and various other 'normal' bands.

Like remastering old photographs with my computer, see my website www.photo-souvenirs-of-war.co.uk.

Love my girlfriend, Clare. But she doesn't love me :o(

Marcus.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe life exists elsewhere in the universe but believe it will be difficult to find. I read somewhere recently that they (NASA I think) will scan stars for evidence pollution by life or something.

The problem is obvious with contact though, the distances between the stars makes it impossible to communicate anyway. If we detect signals from what would be their past and try to send some back, if they are still there and by chance receive them, will we be waiting for a reply in the future, or will we have forgotten or wiped ourselves out?

I want us to find evidence of life, make the religeous groups re think their views as I can't stand the fact that religion is and has been the excuse for most wars.

Anyway, my views, and I have had a few drinks.
