Profile: Malcom Griffith

Personal background
I'm just a good old boy with interests in cooking, eating, reading, computing, neumismatics, science, history, triva, magic, arguing (not debating, arguing), old cars, convertibles, good wine, gambling (particularly craps), travel, movies, sex, fine cigars, mearcham pipes, beer, music, Scottish culture, geneology, games, puzzles, comedy, juggling, mind reading (I knew you would say that), palmistry and theater.

Though not in that order.

I am a member of Mensa, a former percussionist in a bagpipe band, a husband, a son, an uncle, glib to the point of arrogance and a druid in training.

In my spare time I translate pseudo-erotic limerick stories into Minoan B.

Never believe anything I say and only have what I show you; I will somtines tell an outrageous truth to keep an opponent off balance.

My life philosophy changes as often as my socks.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI is arguably a turning point in cooperative processing. It will be looked upon by history as a pivotal moment in research. And it will spawn other projects that would not be possible without the combined processing power contributed by the average person.

This project has the potential to bring science and research to the general population and possibly, hopefully, bring a resurgence of interest in science.
