Personal background
Once upon a time in far far physics department Bradipopitt founded the Oinzen Oinzen group... since we are both physicists an both come from SanGiustino in Umbria how could I leave him alone in the quest for extraterrestrial life?
I was born in 1973 and at the moment Iam attending my PhD course at Università degli studi di Perugia (it is about Dark Matter in the Universe).
Apart from physics I like very much litterature though I have very few time to read a good book;I am a Tolkien addict: I think that world is marvelous.

In my free time if the weather is good i go in the woods looking for mushrooms
or chestnuts; this is not possible in summer and this explains why winter and autumn are my favourite seasons.

Cats are my favourite pets but I like dogs also espscially the italian wolf (which is actually half wolf and half alsation).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Reasonable aestimantes say that in the Universe we have 100 planets compatible whith life whith an error of 100 so it is possible that we do not exist too...
1)My opinion is that extraterrestrial life exists, but we have serious physical limitations which make it hard to find it. As for now i can't figure out any benefit, unless we can actually meet them, but a direct contact is far less likely than receiving signals. Dangers? maybe a new plague... measly killed lots of Hawaians in the early days of colonization.

2) Why? Where? How can they come if they cannot travel faster than light?

3) I am curious and I 'd like to complete more work units than Bradipopitt...
it 's a contest between us >:-]
