Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
#1. Why do you run SETI@home?

HOPE - WONDER - BELIEF

#2. What are your views about the project?

A worthwhile goal; to prove that Man is not alone, that life is an absolute certainty throughout the universe, not just on the little mudball we call Earth.

#3. Any suggestions?

Only for the BOINC project as a whole. Try to get manufacturers to set up computers with the BOINC software pre-installed along with a nice little video presentation of it's usefullness for all kinds of social and scientific research projects. Make it very unobtrusive (I already find it so) and easy to uninstall if unwanted, so as to raise few objections. Stress the untapped power of computers the world over, that are on and running, but doing absolutely nothing, for hours daily. It would be a kind of community service for the manufacturers, and good p.r., showing social responsibility.
