Personal background
I am from Toronto, Canada. I am 21. I am an engineering student and I enjoy reading (sci-fi, sci-fact, fantasy, philosophy), watching hockey, learning martial arts, and playing around with my computers. I really believe that exploring and learning about space should be a top priority among governments because there is so much more to be learned about the universe outside Earth than there is we can learn from studying one planet. I hope to go into a field that can somehow help further space exploration, maybe become an engineer of some sort. I am still undecided about my future.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET must definately exist because for us to be the only lifeforms existing in an uncomprehendable amount of space would surely have to be some practical joke.

I believe if we can continue scanning the skies for radio signals while sending out beacons for others to find we should do that. I don't think it's wise to send out signals instead of searching for them ourselves.

I run SETI@home because I want to help out the space-related fields as much as I can. Also, my computer sucks power for most of the day without doing anything productive.
