Personal background
I come from London England but am currently studying physics at Magdalene college Cambridge. In physics I am really excited by waves and the way wave equations always seem such neat solutions to effects like evanescence that just make no logical sense to me.

I also adore rowing. In the 2001/2 season I rowed for cambridge university lightweights but am now back rowing for my college and really enjoying it.

Finally I like writing websites. My most successful is Alex's Paper Airplanes with 40 000 unique visitors each month. It is a very basic site and not updated often but it contains all the information you need to make some great paper airplanes.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think seti is a very sensible idea and should be promoted more at colleges and universities like Cambridge because there is a huge amount of spare porcessing power available.

I do think that ET's exist and I would be interested to know if they could travel at a significant enough fraction of the speed of light to make interstellar transport viable, somehow I doubt it.

I also feel that the seti model should perhaps be extended to cancer research and other medical fields where its use could be of more direct benefit to human health, but someone else can do that I want to know that we are not alone in the universe!
