Personally I reckon extraterrestial life does exist, after all Earth can't be the only planet with intelligent life on it come on space is pretty vast. We'll probably discover "ET" one of 2 ways 1/ when we send manned space missions further out into space or 2/ when we have achieved global peace then "ET" will contact us.
I don't think we need to send out a beacon, bacause they know we're here.
I run Seti in the hope of proving to the world that extraterrestial life does exist.
