Personal background
Hi!
I'm Martin Kruse from Denmark. I am currently studying at Grenaa Technical Scool. Hobbies include programming in Delphi, web-site development and maintenance (www.loproc.dk).
I use SETI@Home on my server one and two, and of course my laptop.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Sure i believe in Extra Terrestial intelligence. Why would i else be using SETI@Home? :)
Well if space is never-ending, it would be ego-centric for humanity to think they were the only creatures inhabiting space. Benefits of discovering an alien civilisation could include new technology, better understanding of our place in the world. And oc course we could meet some "bad" aliens who wanted us to be killled. But in that case i think they would allready have done so.
As far as i know, we are allready transmitting beacons into space, containing various information of the human species, and it also tells that we are no enemies for any other inhabitants of space.
The SETI@Home project is a genius thing! Why waste all those CPU cycles on nothfing? I can't find a reason for nut running this splendid program.
