Personal background
I'm a 36 yr old CPA and I live in Birmingham Alabama. I've always been fascinated by science, astronomy and the stars. I also love computers, and making them do things I want. I'm a big Linux user. I've built my own system, choosing and assembling the hardware and software to my specifications.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In considering the sheer vastness of the universe and the statistical probability for the existence of millions, billions or even trillions of planets like ours, it seems almost certain that the universe is teeming with life.

I believe we should do what we can to seek out life in the universe. We should always seek to expand our knowledge and understanding of the universe around us. This is the key to the future of mankind. We should try to comunicate any way we can. This is not without risk, but we must continually expand our horizons in order to grow, and even survive.

My appreciation of scientific discovery and fascination with computers makes running SETI a natural fit for me. I am glad to be able to contribute in some small way, to the increasing of the knowledge of mankind.
