Personal background
hi I'm Lee, originally from Derby, UK. but after 8 years in the British Army I settled in Reading, UK. I am a 30 year old Software Tester working for a major financial company.
I have an interest in fitness, DIY, and computers but my heart lies in the mystery of SPACE.

There is alot of space out there and to think that we have the "whole back yard" to ourselves seems like an awful big waste. I believe in life on other planets but also believe that the amount of time life takes to evolve may just mean that 2 forms of life never co-exist within the same time frame.

I keep up to date with things with my regular emails from www.Space.com and have been an avid viewer of the recent Mars landings.

I run a P4 2.4Ghz and currently crunch WU's in and average of just under 4 hours.

Keep up the good work guys.

The truth is out there, somewhere!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think if other life exists in the universe that it will be too far away to contact within the realm of one person's lifetime, but I do believe it's out there.

2.Should we transmit a beacon? Hmm good question. Should we assume that other life could even under stand speech? or even hear come to that. I think we should assume that nearly all intelligent living beings would possess eyes or at the very least the sense of touch. So maybe a beacon isn't such a great first step..

3.I run SETI@Home in the hope that one day we can put WOW! against another signal!
