Personal background |
I am an immigrant from the Netherlands now living in Canada.
We live on Vancouver Island and sailing between all the little islands is our hobby.
Of cource looking at the stars and wondering is another.
I've been in a work related accident and it changed the way I look at life.
Now I try to be more spiritual and focus on the important things. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Opinions:
I do believe in extraterrestrial life.
How can there not be? The universe is massive!
Our Earth so small. No way can we be alone. But how life evolved elsewhere
is anybody's guess. If we ever discover it, it will be in our own solar system.

But discovering life may involve many dangers as well. I would be delighted and so would millions of other people, but religious "hardliners" could use it as an oppertunity to speed up a biblical end of the world or use the discovery as an excuse to murder a whole bunch of people and think this is their quick ticket to paradise (...)
However, mankind is on the right track. When you think about your life, it looks like jumping from rock to rock seemingly at random, trying to cross a river, but when you look back the rocks are stepping stones in a definitive pattern.
And whether or not it is clear to us, there is no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. |
