Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've been working with computers since the TRS-80 was released by Tandy in I think the year 1978, so I've always been aware of the group, and because I'm interested in SF and the sorts, this has always been something I wanted to participate in, but you know, I just never got round to actually joining in!

I'm a strong believer in extraterrestrial intelligence, and especially because I'm a mathematician, and know something about probability.

I don't know If we are going to find them or if we are going to be found or are already found, and I don't really know if it's going to be like "Independence Day", or not, but we are all curious creatures. And this curiosity is the thing which in my opinion is the driving force behind science. Also, I believe (like many other people, I think), that only a society which has according levels of both scientific AND social developments can remain functional as long as it takes to develop interstellar travelling. In other words: a society which is too agressive will destroy itself before it can travel between the stars.

So: LET'S LISTEN!
