Personal background
I'm an 18-year-old Physics Major at Worcester Polytechnis Institute (WPI). I'm
a bit of a computer geek, but not too bad. :) For fun, I like to work out, play chess and pool, use my Playstation 2, and wrestle. I'm currently single, seeing as the female population here is only about 17%. :-(
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Nautrally, I believe that we are not alone in this universe. However, I also think we should have spread from Earth by now, and that we are behind where we should be technologically. I think we should send signals out everywhere; that way, even if we can't find them, they can find us. From my education, I have learned that the closest civilization to us should be either 50,000 years ahead of or behind us technologically. I think it would be great to meet some other more advanced civilizations. We could learn a plethora of information, and answer all the fundamental physics problems with the universe, in a relatively short time. However, we must step out there first in order to find them.

I first heard about SETI from my lawyer about a year and a half ago. I started running it the next day. I want to contribute to such an endeavour as to find intelligent life beyond Earth. So, I continue to run SETI day in and day out. I'm never using my entire computer anyways, so why not donate the rest of it to science?
