my name is gaelan lloyd, i am 19 years old and currently enrolled at my second year at the university of california, irvine majoring in computer science/cognitive science. seti@home is a great project and i am glad to be part of it. i have always believed that the question of if we are alone in the universe cannot be answered unless we look... i think it's safe to say that seti@home has allowed hundreds of thousands of users to turn their computers into part of the largest parallel computing network in history, a tool that will help us answer that question and perhaps unravel some of the mysteries of this wonderfully mind-boggling infinite universe.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

i am a strong believer in extraterrestrial life. i'm not exactly sure when we will stumble across other life forms, or if they will find us first... but it will be an exciting, relieving, and terrifying day to learn that we are not alone. i think that we can only benefit from such knowledge.
i have ran setiathome for a few years now because i like to know that i'm doing my part to help find out if there are other forms of life out there. please make sure that the project continues to run... i am impressed with the large user base and the program's persistance over the years. good job! |
