Personal background
I was born in 1974 in Lysekil, Sweden. The famlily moved to Motala (still Sweden) in 1975, where I still live.

I started playing around with computers in the late 80s and today I use computers
on a hobby-level in both programming, webdevelopment, graphics and music.
I have an old P2 266Mhz as server at home, holding my internetconnection, webpage, some irc-bots and handling all my files and mail.
As a workstation/musicstation I have a P3 850MHz.
Then I have a Athlon 1200Mhz laptop as portable workstation.

So.. This is the machine wich also runs a SETI@HOME-client for me. ;)

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really can't give an answer to "Is there life out there?".
I read alot of religious material and less about biology and chemistry.
I'm not an expert in anything, so I can only give you some of my thoughs:

===
I say a program on Discovery channel the other day.. They talked about life
on Mars and other planets in our system. But also the chances for life in
other systems than ours.
"Water IS needed for carbonbased life, so without water there cannot be life"
was one of the statements.
But we can't even imagine life built on other bases, right? Not even try to
imagine. Even thou they spoke about artificial created machine-life, they
assumed that "then we just need to look for siliconbased dudes, right?".
But nothing says that it's the best way to produce chips? That's just what
we are doing right now.

Even thou I have some believe in a picture where there's a Creator behind life
on our planet, which should mean that life can't grow by accident but from a kind of "life-force", I still need to think alot more of the possibility of the more random evolution based on things like atmosphere, distance from a star, gravity, temperature.
I decide not to count on oxygen and carbon as I still wonder if that's really a must for something to call life.

That's quite it..
