Personal background

The best way to describe myself, is to call myself a "nerd". I'm not the kind of geek that wears glasses and has pants up to half my waist, but I do know a lot about computers, a bit about programming, etc.

The best (or worse actually) thing that links me to the word "nerd" is the fact that I have been single for 5 years now. Not that I want to, but I can't seem to find a girl that seems interested in me. I've tried the online solution (dating sites) but I never get an answer after the 2nd or 3rd email. Well, it's life, what do you want me to do. I certainly won't beg for a girlfriend, right? (Or maybe not... depends on who asks ;)
The best way to find out more about me, is to either email me, or check my Website.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I sincerely think that it is a scientific impossiblity to our being alone in the universe. Since the universe is theoreticaly infinite in size, the possibilities of having life on other planets are also infinite, in theory of course.
By that simple fact, I think the seti@home project has a good chance of succeding. Maybe not today, tommorow or in the next few years even. But one day a signal will reach our Earth, and one of the lucky users of Seti@home will be the one analizing the signal, and returning the results to the server. I wish to be that person, and that is why from this day forward I will try to always have the seti@home software working on at least one computer, all day long. It's already the case at work, and will soon be also at home when I get my own computer.
I sincerely wish that contact with another civilisation is a possibility which we should not be afraid of, and actually look forward too. A contact with an advanced race would be beneficial for us, in terms of philosophy, as well as knowledge and technology. The only thing I am afraid of, is a visit by a race which would be as goaled towards WAR as the human race is, though this would be quite improbable if the other civilisations of the universe would be peacefull - they would have acted on a destructive race and surely brought it to its senses.
I will be ready, when the time comes.
