Hi - My name is Stephen Melaney but everyone calls me Mel. I'm the Senior Design Manager of a design studio for a motorsport clothing manufacturer based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. - I'm married, have been for 3 years, and we are expecting our first child in January 2002. I've been a life long believer in life in outerspace and would love to be the person who finds it.
Right now I'm trying to get my first novel started - but it's proving harder than I imagined - perhaps someday it'll be another blockbuster like "Contact"
I also DJ and Manage 2 Goth/Alternative/Industrial clubs both based in Newcastle upon Tyne - Requiem (www.requiem.i12.com) & The Graveyard (www.the-graveyard.i12.com)which takes up a lot of my time but it's very rewarding in the long run - I've met some great bands and people.

I think what S.E.T.I. is doing is marvelous. I think this way of processing the data is brilliant and lets the man in the street be part of the bigger picture.
I think if life is found out in space the discovery will alter mans future course of development drastically - casting dought on religions, our own exitsence and giving us the dilema of are they friend or foe but I do think what S.E.T.I. is doing is the right way to go.
I run S.E.T.I.@Home because I believe at this time in our lives we are ready for contact and I would love to be that person who's machine/pc finds the information. |
