| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I Totally believe ET is out there, if we find it... that is another thing, i hope we do, but there is alot of space out there. Even if we do not discover ET in our lifetimes i think it is very important to start the search so that hopefully people in the future can continue the search with more sophisticated tools. That is my sensible side talking, i really do hope we find ET in our lifetime because it would have massive implications. It would bring Religion into question. (i am sure religious fundamentalists will say god created ET also :). I just hope ET doesent find us and see our self-destructive nature and choose to ignore us. I run SETI@Home for 2 main reasons. 1. Obveously to try and find ET. 2. SETI@Home shows that humans CAN cooperate in somethings, i believe it is a worth while project . |
