Personal background |
Hi there!
I'm currently 27 years old, and live in South Yorkshire, UK. I work for a major computer manufacturer as a technology consultant. I like fast cars, loud guitars and nice girls (not necessarily in that order). Slightly sadder pastimes include computers (they're a lot less interesting than you might care to believe), robotics, radio control and photography. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Douglas Adams' Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy tells us "Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."
Because of this I feel it is arrogance of the highest order to assume we are the only sentient life out here. The problems finding evidence of this are many - time, distance, technology ... Finding the proverbial needle in the haystack would be a relativly simple task. But we must try. It's going to be hard work and a long haul, but then, worthwhile things always are.
