Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
What interested me in SETI?
Growing up listening to what Carl Sagan had to say interested me in SETI.

Why do I run SETI@home?
Good use for the spare clock cycles on my 'puter. Wish we had a simpler way to scan more frequencies.

Thoughts about SETI in general:
In an infinite universe, there is a 100% probability of an infinite array of intelligent life apart from intelligent life in our solar system. Of course, they may also be so far away that it will take millions of years for signals to reach us. (And I don't know if Congress will bother to fund SETI for that long. Heh.) Whether they're using radio waves to communicate or not is another matter, but it's the best shot we have right now of detecting anything. So why not passively search for incoming signals? Doesn't hurt, might help.
