Programer in Basic, Assemble x86/pdp11/vax, and Foxbase for 25 years. I like to repair computers and travel the US in my RV. Have a network of about 30 computers most win95 boxes a few alpha vax running netbsd and Linux. Hope to add more this winter as cooling is less of a problem.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
A friend told me about SETI@home and with my interest in fixing old computers it was a good match. I think that like all basic science it is not always obvious the outcome regardless of what we think at the start. My personal view is that we are unique in the universe and if extraterrestrial is found we may not be up to the task of commutating with them. Wish for a client for my netbsd vax collection I have several non alpha vaxes.
