Personal background |
Hmmm... a bit about myself... I work in IT, well I actually work in the Pathology department of a fairly big NHS Trust, there is me and my boss to look after about 150 PCs and 8 servers accross two hospital sites. It sounds a lot but most of the time it all works and I get to surf the net. Am bored of this now so I'll go on to the next section. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. Of course I think extraterrestrial life exists. I would like to think that we will be contacted by them when they think we are ready. The benefits could be great advances in technology or medicine the dangers... well they might think we are in their way and wipe us out.
2. I don't think this is a good idea, yet. In my opinion the human race isn't ready to deal with an alien race. We are still having trouble dealing with other humans.
3. I run Seti@Home because... Well I'd like to find evidence of extraterrestrial life. My PC has plenty of spare CPU power most of the time and I like being part of the largest distributed computing experiment ever. |
