Personal background
Hi I am a 28 year old aircraft engineer from the UK. I am married to a Czech girl. When I first told her that I was running this program she was a little concerned that little green men might be paying the two of us a visit in the future!!! But when i had fully explained the setup to her she was fine about it all.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
On another planet somewhere a group of life forms are sitting around discussing if they think that life exists on other planets.
To believe that we have the only planet that will bear life would be highly conceited.
When I was 14 I got into CB radio and then Ham Radio, I think that seti@home is just an extension of every thing that I have been trying to do, to contact someone new.
I think that a dedicated beacon is not important the human race broadcast enough signals in a day that would work as its own beacon and would also give any life forms a glimpse of the workings of the human mind better than any special signal even if it is a mathmatical equation (which proberbly will mean nothing to anyone else as our maths evolved on this planet with all the rules and boundrys that come with it.) or just a simple HI.
