Personal background
Not much to say here really. I am 26 years old. I enjoy astronomy, geology, gemology, GT racing, computers, and custom made peripherals. I am an ameteur meteorologist meaning I taught myself most of what I know. I am also a well experienced rock hound with many interesting specimens in my personal collection. I like 20th century war history with my main focus on WWII. I try my best to stay on top of the space program which explains in part why I use this program. My hope is that one day there will be commercial flights within my lifetime into orbit as this would be the only way for me to go it seems. I'm always looking for news on hot and controversial topics in the science world so if you know of any please feel free to email me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do so very much believe in ETs. I believe that humans have made contact with beings from another world in the past. Imo the benefits could mean vast leaps in technological advancements for us as the human race but the possibility that this could also bring on greater power and thus a greater greed for that power it could also be veiwed as an ethics issue of whether or not we accepted the technology if it was ever offered to us. I run SETI@home because it is my belief that we are not alone in the universe and would like to participate in a program that could prove the very existence of life out there.
