Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really think were not alone. In my personal backround I wrote I'm a BIG Star Trek - Fan, so it were an outrage I wouldn't believe. I often imagine of extraterrestrial lifeforms, how they live, often affected of Star Trek (its a good pattern).
In my opinion we could discover extraterrestrial life today, tomorrow, in a year... nobody knows it, but we can reduce this unknown variable. Someone said to me, when I couldn't reach a goal, just stay, it would come to me. I don't think so. They're out there and we have to gonna find them. May be we need a few steps forward and SETI is a very good one. And when we discover a lifesign it would be great. There are to much benefits and dangers to write it down here, but for my person, there are more benefits.
The fear of the people against something new is not good I think, so the SETI@home - project is a good way to awake the little discoverer in the people, to forget the fear and reach the goal...
